Kimon is the CRO for Bupa Insurance (UKI / Bupa Global). He is also the approved CRO for the BINS and BISL business and holds the SMF 4 (Risk) and SMF 16 (Compliance Oversight) accountabilities. Kimon joined Bupa in January 2022 from RSA where he was the Global Chief Compliance Officer (SMF 16) for the RSA Group and CRO for the UK and International business. Prior to this he was at Aviva and GE Capital. At GE Capital he held a range of M&A Legal roles, and Chief Compliance Officer roles across a range of products and businesses. Kimon started his career as an M&A lawyer working for Herbert Smith Freehills for a number of years, before moving in-house to the M&A Legal team at BT Plc. Kimon has over 15 years’ experience in financial services and has managed some demanding assignments and regulatory interactions (Watchlists, Section 166s etc.). Kimon is originally from South Africa and is half-Greek. He has spent the past 26 years in the UK. He holds a Doctorate of Laws in Jurisprudence and has studied both in the UK and South Africa.
